Posted on 30 Jul 2021 @ 11:34am by Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kevin Roe in 22nd Fleet News

All members of the 22nd Fleet (which includes CGIS) are welcome to join the new Fleet Standards Committee.

Some topics of discussion will include:

• What do we expect from a GM in 22nd Fleet?
• Should visible representation of 22nd Fleet membership be mandatory on member sites?
• What is useful information to share with the fleet in quarterly reports? (Council & GM reports)
• Should 22nd have community based events, workgroups and other non-sim activities? Would you take an active part?
• With a priority to wanting new GMs to be already a member in good standing what else do you think should be required to bring a sim into the fleet?

» PatB Wins Player of Quarter

Posted on 12 Jul 2021 @ 7:27pm by Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kevin Roe in 22nd Fleet News

Congratulations to our very own PatB who plays Special Agent Angelica Passolini on being awarded Player of the Quarter for the 2nd Quarter of 2021 by the 22nd Fleet!

The Player of the Quarter award recognizes a player which has demonstrated excellent or otherwise noteworthy contributions to one or more sims/games during the selected quarter.

PatB (Special Agent Angelica Passolini, CGIS) – PatB was immediately interested in the concept of CGIS since I began speaking about it. Not only was he one of the first to join but he also has an interesting character involving family that appears in NPC form. In addition to his performance in character he also was the co-author of some database articles and helpful to research and creation of the sim overall.

» Sim of Valor - May 2021

Posted on 27 Jun 2021 @ 5:21pm by Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kevin Roe in CGIS News

Congratulations to all of the members who were active on CGIS in May of 2021! We were awarded the Sim of Valor award by the 22nd Fleet. I apologize for the delayed announcement as it was conferred upon the sim on 12 JUN.

The Sim of Valor is awarded to a Sim that rises above the fleet’s roster for any of the following reasons:

• Excellence in posting, either quality or quantity;
• Excellence in website development, either graphics, presentation, or appearance;
• Setting oneself as a shining star and example for the 22nd Fleet;
• Notable improvement; or
• Other Reason as determined by community.

CGIS’s site is extremely informative, providing the perfect amount of information for potential and current players. Their writing is great and truly captures life in the Coast Guard. This sim has limitless potential and is worthy of May’s Sim of Valor.

Congratulations to Star Geek who writes for Special Agent Kamea Kai here on CGIS! As one of the most recent members to join CGIS she has presented a fantastic unique character and has successfully introduced their character into the ongoing of our episode as well as their family life.

Distinguished Service - Bronze

Congratulations and a giant thank you to Greenfelt! Who is not a member of CGIS but was nominated for this award by the Game Manager for being a powerful supporter of our group. Greenfelt went out of his way to create a special rank set for use by CGIS. They look wonderful and helped make our unique presence within the fleet stand out even more.

» April of 2021

Posted on 01 May 2021 @ 10:25pm by Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kevin Roe in CGIS News

Hey everyone,

Today is 1 MAy 2021 (OOC of course) and we have entered our second month of operation. I ran through the statistics and in the month of April we made 18 posts, we had 8 members, averaging approximately two posts per member for the month. That's a great start for a brand new sim where we didn't even begin posting until about the middle of the month.

Welcome to all of our new members and those who helped me found the place. Remember our database is a fantastic resource and I'm always available to help. For those of you who don't know I have some real-life Coast Guard experience and happy to lend my expertise.

Looking forward to our future and the great writing I see coming.
